The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate has issued a Request for Information (RFI) on new technologies or technological ideas for screening air cargo consolidated onto skids–40 inches by 48 inches by 60 inches–for the presence of improvised explosive devices. S&T wants to be able to screen a full complement of low, medium and high-density air cargo across a wide range of commodities. DHS is only interested in systems whose initial capital costs do not exceed $500,000, although the final targeted cost is $300,000. Yearly operating costs, including labor, should not exceed $150,000 per device. Sol. No. DHS-ST-AIRCARGO-FY10. Respond by Dec. 1. Contact: [email protected].
