Curtiss-Wright Corp. [CW] has acquired solenoid-based component manufacturer South Bend Controls for $10 million, boosting its portfolio of highly engineered valves and regulators.
Indiana-based South Bend supplies components to the aerospace, defense, industrial and medial markets. The deal gives Curtiss-Wright a leadership position in the aerospace and defense industry for solenoid-based valves.
Curtiss-Wright said the combination of South Bend’s common solenoid valve design and engineering expertise with its current sensor and valve solutions enables it to provide customers with a full breadth of component capabilities and technologies.
South Bend has 63 employees.
