CSC [CSC] has received a potential five-year task order from the 24th Air Force Cyber Command to provide technical and analytical support in areas relating to command and control, planning, implementing, and executing the Air Force cyberspace mission. The award was made under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services contract, which CSC has been on since 2006. Work on the task order will be performed at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas. “CSC is honored to support the evolution of the Network Warfare Operations mission to a cyberspace capability for the 24th Air Force,” says Harold Smith, vice president and general manager of the Intelligence Group for CSC’s North American Public Sector. “Our mission is to ensure that Air Force’s cyber command is confident in the integrated processes, procedures, data and systems to support its air, space and electromagnetic spectrum operations.” Separately, the Air Force awarded CSC a potential three-year, $30 million contract to provide cyber security services for the 33rd Network Warfare Squadron (NWS). The contract calls for CSC to isolate, contain and prevent intrusive activities on the Air Force automated information systems and networks. CSC will also plan, coordinate, analyze and report on the results of managed network intrusion detection systems and intrusion prevention systems. Work under the award will also be performed at Lackland AFB. For more than 12 years CSC has been supporting the Air Force Computer Emergency Response team, which supports the 33rd NWS, the only operational unit in the Air Force tasked with providing full-time defense and monitoring of Air Force and U.S. Cyber Command worldwide classified and unclassified Internet Protocol networks.
