CREDANT Technologies has launched CREDANT Protector, its endpoint data leakage prevention solution for comprehensive device and wireless port control, as well as extensive optical medial encryption capabilities. Targeted at government agencies, CREDANT says that its new solution allows authorized government employees to utilize removable media to further the agency mission while eliminating the risk that sensitive data may be lost, stolen or corrupted. “The recent malicious code attack to the Department of Defense’s network using USB drives demonstrates that removable media can increase the vulnerability of sensitive government data,” says Pete Morrison, vice president of North American Sales for CREDANT. “At the same time, removable media also enhances the government’s ability to share information, and essential tool in protecting the homeland, supporting the warfighter, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of government. The CREDANT Protector solution helps the government meet these mission critical needs, allowing information technology administrators, rather than individual users, to control data ports.”
