CBP Awards CSC $86M for Financial Systems Support

CSC [CSC] has received a potential $86 million Blanket Purchase Agreement from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to provide financial system support services to the agency. The first task order has an estimated total value of $31 million. CSC says it will provide operations and maintenance of financial systems and functional support, including help desk, user training, upgrades and enhancements to CBP’s 5,000 SAP users. The company will also assist in the development and implementation of new financial systems, including a shared services model across DHS.

A-T Solutions Receives $37M from Navy for Forensics and Biometrics Program

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division has awarded A-T Solutions a $37 million contract in support of the Naval Expeditionary Forensics and Biometrics (NEFB) program that assists all branches of the military. The NEFB program provides expeditionary and reach-back forensic and biometric exploitation analysis support to various operational agencies, and aims to provide rapid results to meet intelligence, security, stability and law enforcement needs in the areas of forensic and biometric science. A-T Solution’ specific responsibilities under the contract include program management and technical support, engineering and technician services, logistical and installation services, deployment planning, execution and personnel support, forensic services in the DNA, chemistry, firearm and tool mark, and latent print disciplines, explosive ordnance disposal support, and website and data management services.

Oslo Airport Orders Rapiscan’s RTT System

OSI Systems [OSIS] says its Rapiscan Systems division has received a $7 million order from Norway’s Oslo Airport for the company’s Real Time Tomography (RTT) explosive detection systems to screen checked baggage. In 2011 Rapiscan received a $20 million order from a British airport group for the RTT systems, marking the first order for the fixed-gantry EDS that offer the potential of screening up to 1,800 bags per hour (HSR, June 8, 2011). “As European airports upgrade their screening infrastructure to handle increased passenger demand and comply with the latest regulatory requirements, our RTT screening solutions are an excellent choice as they are approved to the European Union’s Standard 3, its most demanding standard for explosive detection performance for equipment providing high throughput,” says Deepak Chopra, OSI’s CEO.

Maryland Transit Administration Awards CSI $8M for Intelligent Video System

Critical Solutions International (CSI) has received an $8.3 million phase four contract from the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) to provide an advanced video security solution to selected rail stations within the state’s rapid transit network. Texas-based CSI will use Britain-based Aralia Systems’ intelligent video surveillance and security software as part of the solution. The system will be able to notify security personnel of unusual events such as the intrusion into unauthorized areas, unattended luggage, or loitering. The system also stores large amounts of digital video data that can be quickly analyzed through customized searches using video analytics. “Security personnel who utilize our intelligence software have found it easy to navigate and access camera views, retrieve stored video, perform retrospective searches, and define alarm criteria per camera,” says Michael McCormack, CSI’s CEO. A/C Power is the subcontractor for electrical power and Skyline Technology Solutions will provide network support. The work includes upgrading a number of transit locations by replacing old analog cameras with digital technology. The company says it can also integrate other sensors if required. CSI says the MTA contract was its first time bidding for work in the homeland security space. Rockwell Collins’ [COL] ARINC unit was the prime contractor on earlier phases of the work.

Kratos Nabs $8M Mass Transit System Security Contract

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions [KTOS] says its Public Safety & Security Division has received a $7.8 million contract to design, engineer, deploy and integrate a technology security system in to the command and control infrastructure of a mass transportation authority  in a major U.S. city. The security system will include video surveillance, analytics, access control and certain other specialized security-related assets. The customer was not disclosed. “These types of opportunities—large new sophisticated security system deployments in the largest cities in the United States—are extremely strategic by their very nature and are key to the continued growth trajectory of Kratos’ Public Safety & Security Division,” says Eric DeMarco, president and CEO of Kratos.

Leidos Wins Potential $16M to Provide IT, Security and Facilities Support

Boston Properties and Konterra Realty has awarded Leidos [LDOS] a potential five-year, $16 million contract to provide information technology (IT), Security and facilities support for a multi-tenant secure facility in Annapolis Junction, Md., which is near Fort Meade. The award was made under the Facility Mega Center Operations and Maintenance contract. “This is a key win that strategically positions Leidos for future classified IT, security and facility support contracts in the national security sector,” says Sam Gordy, Leidos group president.

DHS Awards Alante $71M for Security Officers in NYC

Alante Security Group has received two contracts worth a combined $71.3 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Protective Service to provide armed protective security officers at federally owned and leased facilities in Queens and Staten Island in New York City. The award for Queens is valued at $47.2 billion and the award for Staten Island is worth $24.1 million.

USCIS Awards InfoZen $12M for Software Work

Software and information technology solutions provider InfoZen has received a potential three-year, $12 million contract from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to integrate and operate software products using open source tools to provide continuous software integration and delivery services in support of the agency’s business goal of a paperless electronic immigration system. InfoZen will establish an Open Source-based Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline to enable a standardized and repeatable automated build and deployment environment to enable frequent delivery of high quality software, the company says. “This contract is critical for the success of the agency’s large scale automation of current business processes, as well as deploying a modernized code base that is sustainable, cost-effective, and reusable,” says Raj Ananthanpillai, InfoZen’s chairman, president and CEO.
