Smiths Detection Receives International Air Freight Order for High Speed EDS

Smiths Detection says it has received an order to deliver a “significant number” of HI-SCAN 10080 XCT high-speed explosive detection systems (EDS) to an air freight parcel sorting facility in Europe and Britain. The dual-energy system can scan packages for explosives and contraband.

European Airport Awards OSI Systems $11M for RTT EDS

OSI Systems [OSIS] says its Rapiscan Systems division has received an $11 million order from an airport in Europe for multiple units of the Real Time Tomography (RTT) 110 explosive detection systems (EDS). The RTT EDS are computed tomography-based EDS with fixed gantries. OSI says the contract expands its installed base of RTT hold baggage inspection systems at European airports.

Coast Guard Awards Dyncorp $51M for Aircraft Maintenance

DynCorp International has received a potential five-year $51.4 million contract from the Coast Guard’s Aviation Logistics Center under the Progressive Structural Inspection and Depot Level Maintenance program for the C-130H and C-130J aircraft. Inspection of the C-130s will ensure airworthiness using non-destructive inspection procedures. “We are pleased to be named a critical new partner with the Coast Guard’s ALC Depot Team at Elizabeth City,” says Joe Ford, president of DynAviation. The contract was awarded on Dec. 20.

CBP Awards G4S $50M for Migrant Relocation Services

G4S Secure Solutions has received a potential nine-month, $50 million contract from Customs and Border Protection to provide transportation and security guard services for migrant transfers along the southwest border effective March 4. The contract has a six-month baser period and one three-month option. The contract ensures continuity of services while CBP recompetes the work for a long-term contract.

North American Security Awarded $41M for Protective Services in Connecticut

North American Security, Inc. has received a potential $41.2 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Service to provide security guard services at various locations throughout the state of Connecticut.
