U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has issued a Request for Proposals for document production services at existing facilities in Kentucky and Missouri. The agency plans to contract for secure document production operations that produce 4.5 million identification cards annually and 87,000 Travel Document Booklets. CBP Needs Spare Parts for Small UAS

The Federal Aviation Administration, on behalf of Customs and Border Protection, is conducting a market survey for the acquisition of spare parts for the Puma and Raven small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) through AeroVironment [AVAV]. At this time, Aerovironment is the only known source that can meet the requirements. A statement of work issued by the FAA says the Raven and Puma UAS are reconnaissance, surveillance, targeting and acquisition tools that transmit live airborne video, images, compass headings and location information to a ground control station and to a laptop computer. TSA Reschedules APS Industry Day

With the lapse in appropriations at the Department of Homeland Security over, at least until Feb. 15, the Transportation Security Administration has rescheduled its industry day for the Accessible Property Screening (APS) program for Feb. 11 at the agency’s Security Integration Facility at Reagan National Airport in Northern Virginia. The purpose of the event, which was originally schedule for January but postponed indefinitely pending the end of the partial government shutdown, will introduce the APS to manufacturers of Transportation Security Equipment (TSE), government partners, and other third party organizations that have proven experience in the computed tomography, Automated Screening Lane, TSE networking, TSE integration, and TSE deployment domains. DHS Agencies, GSA Plan IT Modernization Day

CBP Seeks Repairs and Operator Training for Small UAS

The Federal Aviation Administration, on behalf of Customs and Border Protection, is conducting a market survey for repairs and operator training of small unmanned aircraft systems. The current systems include the AeroVironment Raven RQ-11B and Puma RQ-20A Block I, RQ-20-B Block II & III, the FLIR Systems [FLIR] PD-100 Black Hornet 3 Nano-UAS, Lockheed Martin [LMT] Indago 3, and the Aeryon SkyRaider. DHS Plans Small Business Outreach Session for Late February

The Department of Homeland Security Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization will host a vendor outreach session on Feb. 28 in Washington, D.C., at the Homeland Security Acquisition Institute. The sessions are pre-arranged 15-minute appointments with Small Business Specialists from various components of DHS procurement offices and allow the vendors to discuss their capabilities and learn of potential procurement opportunities.
