The Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Nuclear Detection Technology Division, has issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) seeking proposals to conduct research in nuclear detection. The agency seeks proposals for advanced detector development to advance the state of the art in systems capable of detecting, locating, imaging, and identifying radiological and nuclear materials in a variety of operational scenarios. DoD Seeks CBRNE Lab Analysis and Collection Services
The Pentagon’s Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate, is requesting proposals for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives (CBRNE) laboratory analysis and collection services for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. The agency’s CBRNE Directorate is responsible for providing biological monitoring capabilities to protect the facilities and personnel of the Pentagon and other DoD entities. The directorate is responsible for testing environmental samples for biological agents. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials and other items for a 24/7 operation to perform analysis of collected samples. The contractor shall be capable of performing polymerase chain reaction and electrochemluminescence, or similar immunoassay procedure, to detect several biowafare threat agents. Sol. Sandia Labs Seeks Rapid Response

DHS Issues RFI for Managed Desktop Services
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) related to a potential requirement for managed desktop services to improve the areas of service design, service transition, and service operations through the insertion of a best practice managed desktop services solution. The program would improve information technology service and support for DHS headquarters and supported component locations with the National Capital Region, continental U.S., and in limited locations outside the continental U.S. The potential requirement is to acquire service desk, end user support, network operations, and engineering services. DHS S&T Soliciting for SBIR Projects
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate is inviting small businesses to submit phase one proposals under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. A formal solicitation is expected by May 24. The technical topic areas that S&T is interested in include: solid state storage investigative tools for law enforcement; automated threat recognition algorithms using standardized image file formats; objective, quantitative image quality measurements and metrics for screener imaging technologies; hardening for commercially available handheld computing and communications devices for first responders; and next generation textiles for multi-threat personal protective equipment.
