Canada’s Plurilock Security Solutions has received a $200,000 award from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to develop an identity management platform to improve the security capabilities of smart devices, sensors and other devices that connect and operate across the Internet. The company’s BioTracker is being designed to protect devices and sensors and their affiliated institutions on the Internet of Things with a high level of assurance and within the limited resources these Non-Person Entities are known for. BioTracker uses behavioral and contextual data from users to authenticate the identity of an NPE to protect it from a number of threats. The award was made under DHS Science and Technology’s Silicon Valley Innovation Program. Plurilock is the second foreign company to get an award under the program.
