Joint Emergency Training Associates has received a potential five-year $4.8 million contract from the Coast Guard to provide chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense training. The contracts is a small business set aside.

Electronic Consulting Services, Inc., has received a three-month, $1 million contract extension from the Department of Homeland Security to continue to provide performance and support of the National Operations Center (NOC) during the transition to a new contractor. The NOC serves as the principle federal operations center for events of natural or man-made disasters or acts of terrorism. The NOC Common Operating Picture (COP) operations and maintenance contract provides technology services to maintain the critical capabilities of the NOC COP.

Implant Sciences Corp. [IMSC] in recent weeks has received awards from U.S. government agencies for multiple QS-B220 desktop explosive trace detectors. The company says the awards are due to the successful completion of independent testing and evaluation with the Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Laboratory. Separately Implant says it recently hosted briefings and demonstrations of its QS-B220 at Miami International Airport in the West Cargo Area conference room for anyone involved in air cargo security.

Reed Composite Solutions has received a $279,000 contract from the Coast Guard for the production of stand alone lightweight composite body armor capable of defeating lethal threats. Reed says the armor will be delivered to the Coast Guard within 60 days. The contract is the first competitively awarded contract for the company for its body armor.
