Alliant Techsystems [ATK] has been awarded a $78 million contract by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to retrofit three Maritime Patrol Aircraft with integrated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems for use by CBP Air and Marine Operations to monitor drug trafficking and illegal immigration. The contract will bring to seven the number of aircraft ATK has upgraded for CBP. ATK says its sensor suite allows the aircraft to simultaneously detect numerous activities of interest at substantial stand-off range. The work will be done at ATK’s Ft. Worth, Texas, facility.
