By next week the Army wants to hear from industry in response to its Market Survey for the engineering, design, test, integrated logistics support and production for an armored replacement cab for the M1070A1 Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET).
The Product Manager Heavy Tactical Vehicles is conducting the survey to find industry interest and capability to produce the replacement cab to “improve the protection capability” of the HET while minimizing impacts to the maintainability and retaining automotive performance to the maximum extent possible.
The development approach must include planning and development of logistic support.
Additionally, the solution would include armored protection around the perimeter of the cab, including the underbody. The armored cab must meet the requirements identified in the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) capabilities production document.
The government expects a fully competitive level III Technical Data Package (TDP) at the conclusion of design and testing.
While the government wants the armored replacement cab to share components with the HET, such as the HVAC system, it will specifically require the armor solution be defined using existing material specifications without sole source implications.
Responses to the survey should be e-mailed by March 19 to the Contracting Officer, Jennifer Meyer,[email protected], with a copy to Contract Specialist Lisa Geasimidis at [email protected].
