The President yesterday sent the the nomination of Heidi Shyu to be the Army’s acquisition chief to the Senate.

Shyu has been acting assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology) since the June resignation of retired Army Lt. Gen. Mal O’Neill, (Defense Daily, June 2).

She was appointed principal deputy acquisition chief on Nov. 8, 2010.

A former chairman of the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board, Shyu joined the service from Raytheon [RTN] , where she was vice president of technology strategy (Defense Daily, Nov. 8, 2010).
