The National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is soliciting for continued development of decorporation agents used to treat internal exposure of radiation, which occurs when radionuclides are internalized by inhalation, ingestion, or through contaminated wounds and distributed to sensitive tissues.
