L-3 MPRI [LLL] yesterday said it received a single-award contract with a total value of $41.97 million if all options are exercised to support the Army Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) program.
The work includes a phase-in from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, a base year from Jan. 1, 2012 to Oct. 31, 2012 plus four one-year options.
L-3 MPRI said in a statement it would provide all personnel, including instructors, role players, and supervisory and support staff; supplies; and other items and services necessary to support the development, administration, execution and instruction of the Army SERE Level C Course at Fort Rucker, Ala.
“We are pleased to continue our more than 20 years of support for the U.S. Army with this mission-critical training contract,” said Doug Fouser, senior vice president and general manager of L-3 MPRI’s Military Services Group. “Our team is exceptionally positioned to support Fort Rucker’s curriculum with training in evading capture, survival skills and the military code of conduct.”
Designated as the Army Aviation Center of Excellence in 2008, Fort Rucker is the headquarters for Army Aviation. Successful completion of the 21-day SERE training course is required of all flight students prior to beginning Initial Entry Rotor Wing (IERW) training. Additionally, other personnel from across the services who hold occupational specialties that could expose them to a high risk of capture may also attend the course.
