AGMA Gets $20M Contract for Armed Guard Services in Puerto Rico

The Department of Homeland Security has awarded AGMA Security Services a $20.4 million contract to provide armed security guard services in Puerto Rico. The award is for armed guards for current and future disaster recovery centers and inspected sites for Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster operations in response to Hurricane Maria.

DHS Awards USC Contract for Cybersecurity Experimentation Testbed

The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate has awarded the Univ. of Southern California’s (USC) Information Sciences Institute a seven-month contract to conduct meeting that will engage stakeholders to begin to form a consensus and plan to realize the Cybersecurity Experimentation Testbed of the Future (CEF) vision. The meetings will also be a springboard for a community-wide CEF working group that will further develop and realize that plan after the completion of the DETER-Bridge contract. The DETER project provides contained environments that allow researchers to safely test advanced defense mechanisms against “live” threats without endangering other research or the Internet. The value of the award was redacted. The communities that USC will engage include builders and operators of testbed infrastructure, organizations and entities that create test and experimentation tools, and the end user/experimenter community.

CBP Awards Govplace $2M for VMware Software

Customs and Border Protection has awarded Govplace a $2.3 million delivery order for VMware software license renewals and maintenance. The delivery order was not competitive.

HHS Awards Humanetics $5M for Rad/Nuke Medical Countermeasure Drug

Humanetics Corp. has received a three-year, $5.4 million contract from the Department of Health and Human Services  National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to continue development of the proprietary drug candidate, BIO 300, as a medical countermeasure for use in the event of a radiological or nuclear incident. The drug is being developed to mitigate the delayed effects of  acute radiation exposure to the lungs.
