Camber Corp. yesterday said it has acquired i2S Inc., a small professional services firm providing subject matter expertise to the intelligence community, particularly in the area of cyber security.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition broadens Camber’s offerings to the intelligence community and gives them a more comprehensive offering in cyber security. Camber already provides training to defense customers in cyber security.

“Combining Camber’s cyber security expertise, along with i2S’ analysis talent, creates a solid platform on which to build our cyber enterprise,” Ken Foxton, vice president of National Intelligence Programs at Camber, said in a statement.

Alabama-based Camber, which was acquired last December by the private equity fund New Mountain Partners III, L.P., has over 1,900 employees. Maryland-based iS2 has 130 employees, with more than 100 holding security clearances. iS2 customers include the National Reconnaissance Office, the Defense Intelligence Agency, large federal prime contractors and others.
