TSA Issues Draft Work Statement for Maintenance of Security Equipment

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a draft performance work statement that defines the requirements for the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of an Integrated Logistics Support program to sustain the agency’s security equipment that his deployed at Category X through Category IV airports and other government-designated facilities. The objective of the forthcoming procurement is to obtain a performance-based contractor logistics support contract with maintenance service provider, relying on the contractor’s experience and expertise to determine the best maintenance and support structure that meets or exceeds the performance requirements contained in the draft work statement. Army Issues RFI for Afghan ABIS 2.0

The Army Project Manager for DoD Biometrics has issued a Request for Information (RFI) related to the development of a new and advanced Afghan Automated Biometrics Identification System, the ABIS 2.0, and capability associated with biometric capture and matching sub-systems. PM DoD Biometrics also wants specialized training, systems administration of complex biometrics IT systems, subsystems and peripherals, upgrades and sustainment of proprietary software that these system utilize, coordination and cooperation with Resolution Support Headquarters, and continued transition of the long-term enduring capability to the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Afghanistan established the biometric program in 2007, comprising of live scanning capabilities and ABIS matching system for the Ministry of Interior with the purpose of vetting ANSF personnel for service. The ABIS system supports capture and matching of face, fingerprint, iris, palm prints, and latent prints. CBP Issues RFI for Integrated Rail Inspection System

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office have issued a Request for Information (RFI) to identify vendors that can provide Integrate Rail Inspection Systems (IRIS) for the non-intrusive inspection program. The purpose of the IRIS effort is to replace existing gamma-ray imaging system with high energy X-Ray imaging systems, integrate a passive radiation detection system, and add situational awareness capabilities at rail land border crossings. The purpose of the IRIS system is the interdiction of radiological and nuclear threats, contraband, and persons illegally entering the country. CBP Conducting Market Surveys for RVSS Sensors

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is conducting separate market surveys for sensors for its Remote Video Surveillance Systems (RVSS) border security technology, one for Night Hawk sensor suites, another for camera systems, and a third for day cameras. The first two surveys apply to RVSS deployed on the northern border. For the Night Hawk suites (Sol. No. 26816), the survey is for six systems from vendors that can supply the Night Hawk brand of equipment. For the camera system survey (Sol. No. 26815), the survey is for a potential camera replacement system, including infrared camera, electro-optical camera, and pan tilt platform, to be used on the RVSS.  For the day cameras (Sol. CBP Surveys Market for MSC Support

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), on behalf of Customs and Border Protection (CBP), is conducting two market surveys for the Mobile Surveillance Capability (MSC) system deployed along the southern border. One survey is for repair support and purchase of spares for ground master radar (Sol. No. 26509) applicable to the MSC. The second survey (Sol. No. 26813) is for repair and purchase of spares for the MSC computer and monitor. The FAA is planning two separate one-year contracts and four one-year option periods for each procurement.  The nature of the competitions hasn’t been decided. CBP Issues RFI for High Security Seals

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for vendors that could provide High Security Seals that are capable of preserving the integrity of cargo leaving CBP possession. The agency wants to standardize the type of seal its officers are authorized to affix, and eliminate any potential security breaches while cargo is in transit from the federal government to the private industry trade community that might result in the refusal of delivery or unnecessary delay of legitimate cargo entering the U.S. commerce. CBP Plans RFP for Data Center Support Services

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on or about March 30 plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Data Center Support Services (DCSS). CBP plans to award a single contract for the CDSS to provide the Office of Information Technology with support in all aspects of IT. Much of the work currently is being done by five different contractors including Vencore, Presidio, CSRA [CSRA], Mythics, and IBM [IBM]. Sol. No. 20095257-DCSS. Army Conducting Market Research for JBADS

The Army has issued a Request for Information for the Joint Biological Agent Decontamination System (JBADS) program, which will enter the acquisition cycle at Milestone B and immediately begin engineering and manufacturing development activities. The EMD start is due to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency providing the current technology with a readiness level of seven based on the JBADS Joint Capability Technology Demonstration conducted in 2014 and 2015. The objective of the JBADS is to provide the U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command with the ability to contaminate aC-130H/J-J-30 model aircraft from biological warfare agents through the employment of hot, humid air to allow unrestricted worldwide use of the aircraft post-decontamination. DHS S&T Issues RFI for Personal Physiological Monitoring Systems

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) branch, National Urban Security Technology Laboratory is seeking information on commercially available personal physiological monitoring systems. The target audience for the information is first responders who are seeking methods to monitor vital signs of first responders during an emergency response. Systems should consist of various sensors, a wireless RF transmitter and receiver, and a display platform, and should be able to monitor physiological indicators such as heart rate, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and activity. DNDO Issues RFI for Test and Evaluation Independent Verification & Validation Support
