The Army plans an Industry Day June 25 for Network Integration Evaluation (NIE) 14.2 at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Md.

The goal is to keep the industrial base informed of upcoming requirements to support the NIE 14.2, which will be held in May 2014, the service said in the notice.

The Industry Day, open to U.S. and foreign vendors and government representatives, will discuss NIE participation opportunities and offer an overviews of the NIE 14.2 Sources Sought notification that will ask for industry participation in NIE 14.2.

Foreign vendors have until May 18 to complete three site visit requests for admission to the Industry Day.

The Industry Day event is expected to provide an overview of capability gaps that the 14.2 NIE Sources Sought notice might address. For example, a draft list includes forcible entry mission command, brigade/battalion command post mobility and scalability, aerial layer network extension and transport convergence among a host of others.

The Industry Day will also go over a draft list of NIE 14.2 objectives, which include assessing Joint Force network capabilities while conducting entry operations to inform Mission Partner Environment conceptual development. It could also include objectives to validate the network’s ability to meet fires’ messaging requirements under a full operationally realistic network load, and continue to develop architecture, concepts and capabilities to improve unified land operations through the use of aerial layer and network enabled integration of Army ground and air.
