The Defense Department and U.K. defense ministry are working together on a common missile compartment for each nation’s next-generation submarine, and some of this £642 million will help pay for the development of this compartment.

Spending on the upgrading of Britain’s Nuclear deterrent has now reached nearly £4bn, but the CND are furious that a Commons vote still hasn’t taken place. A further £642 million will be invested in developing the new generation of submarines carrying the UK’s nuclear deterrent, Michael Fallon has confirmed.
