Subsystem Technologies, Inc. (SUBSYSTEMs) is growing its systems engineering and technical assistance capabilities with the acquisition of business management consulting firm KMS Solutions, LLC, which brings its workforce development and policy training experience for the Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community.
Under the deal, which was announced Tuesday, KMS Solutions will become a wholly owned subsidiary of SUBSYSTEMs where it will provide full life-cycle support for systems engineering, including specification development and pre-deployment testing. SUBSYSTEMs hopes to utilize its new subsidiary’s extensive experience supporting the Navy Submarine Force.
“Every interaction has reinforced that we share a common vision of providing outstanding service to our customers,” KMS Solutions CEO Gail Urso said in a statement. “Both our clients and employees will significantly benefit from the resulting combined technical expertise and experience.”
KMS will provide C4ISR, cyber security compliance and test range engineering services for SUBSYSTEMs’ clients.
In October 2016, KMS began a five-year prime contractor task order as part of the Navy’s SeaPort-e program to provide engineering and technical support for Ocean Engineering Programs under Naval Sea Systems Command and its Naval Surface Warfare Carderock Division. KMS also received a five-year task order in March 2016 to provide technology refresh products and prototype systems for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
