Orbital ATK [OA] announced a $90 million initial contract from Northrop Grumman [NOC] to extend the service life and provide composite components for the B-2 Spirit stealth bombers over the next five years.

Orbital will provide Non-Recurring Engineering services to Northrop Grumman and will produce 17 Hot Trailing Edge composite parts for the aircraft as per the deal, the company said on Tuesday.

The B-2 Spirit has been a part of the U.S. Air Force’s long-range strike arsenal since 1997 and is capable of deploying both nuclear and conventional bombs.

“This program capitalizes on our core competency of providing advanced processes to fit our customer’s needs,” Orbital’s Aerospace Structures Division Vice President and General Manager Steve Earl said in a statement.

Production will take place at Orbital’s Aerospace Structures Division facility in Dayton, Ohio, beginning later this year.
