The House Armed Services Committee (HASC) Feb. 1 announced the lineup of subcommittee vice chairs for the 116th Congress, and all six are lawmakers who were just elected to Congress in 2018.

Committee Chair Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.) named the following members to vice chair positions in a Friday press statement:

Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), a former U.S. Army Ranger who served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, will be the number-two Democrat on the Intelligence, Emerging Threats & Capabilities Subcommittee. Navy Surface Forces veteran Rep. Elaine Luria (D-Va.) will be the vice chair for the Seapower and Projection Forces subcommittee.

The Readiness Subcommittee’s vice chair is Rep. Andy Kim (D-N.J.), who served on the National Security Council during the Obama administration and was an adviser to retired Army Gen. David Petraeus and retired Marine Gen. John Allen in Afghanistan. Rep. Kendra Horn (D-Okla.), a former manager of governmental affairs for the Space Foundation, is the new vice chair for Strategic Forces.

The Military Personnel Subcommittee’s number-two Democrat is Rep. Gil Cisneros (D-Calif.) and the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee vice chair is Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (D-N.M.).
