The European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. (EADS) recently said its new corporate headquarters in Toulouse, France, has begun operations with plans to be fully operational by Sept. 1.
The new headquarters will host more than 500 employees, including integrated functions of the company and its commercial airplane division Airbus. EADS says that as part of the reorganization, 116 positions currently based in Paris and 75 positions based in Munich, Germany, are being transferred to Toulouse.
“I wish to thanks the works councils in France and Germany for constructive and trustful negotiations over the last few months,” Tom Enders, CEO of EADS, said in a statement. “This agreement is a key milestone to further integrating EADS.”
EADS is in the process of strengthening its governance structure following approval by the company’s shareholders last week of a plan that will allow it to operate more freely from interference by national governments in France and Germany.
