QinetiQ North America (QNA) yesterday said $8.4 million in orders have been received for TALON® robots from the Czech Republic and Poland to provide explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) support to their military forces.

“TALON robots are world class lifesavers that distance warfighters from the dangers they face,” said QNA’s Technology Solutions Group President J.D. Crouch. “The average TALON robot is blown up thirteen times in its lifetime, repaired and returned to action. With more than 3,000 of these life-saving robots in theater today, TALON continues to be the robot of choice for EOD missions both domestically and internationally.”

The orders include $1.6 million from the Czech Republic and $6.8 million from Poland, facilitated by the U.S. Navy.

In addition to these new orders, QNA recently completed training with the Romanian Army on the use of their new TALON robots.
