Boeing [BA] said yesterday it has appointed a 31-year veteran of the company to head its research and technology unit.
Greg Hyslop will take over as vice president and general manager for Boeing Research & Technology, succeeding Matt Ganz, who was recently named president of Boeing Germany and Northern Europe.
Hyslop had been vice president and general manager of Boeing Strategic Missile & Defense Systems since March 2009, overseeing missile defense, strategic missile and directed energy programs.
In his new job Hyslop will lead a team of nearly 4,000 employees. He will report to John Tracy, the company’s chief technology officer and senior vice president for engineering, operations and technology.
