Bell Helicopter [TXT] recently said it received a contract to modify and refurbish eight Royal Thai Army Bell 212 helicopters.

Bell Helicopter Asia will work with Bell’s independent representative Royal Airport Services on this in-country program.

“Modifying and refurbishing these Bell 212s will provide the Royal Thai Army improved mission capabilities,” said Danny Maldonado, senior vice president and Chief Services Officer for Bell Helicopter. “We have had a long, strong partnership with the Royal Thai Army and are looking forward to continuing this relationship.”

The Royal Thai Army operates a large fleet of helicopters in Thailand with the majority of them being Bell products.

The Bell 212 is a two-bladed, twin-engined, medium helicopter. It is a derivative of the “Huey” family of helicopters that have proven their reliability, ruggedness, and multi-mission capabilities for many years.

Bell is home to an industry-leading customer support network made up of more than 100 customer service facilities in 34 countries, six strategically located supply centers and nearly 100 customer service engineers and dedicated product support engineers all focused on executing on customer requirements, increasing global responsiveness and lowering direct operating costs.
