BAE Systems on Wednesday said it is collaborating with software firm Splunk Inc. [SPLK] to provide a solution based on machine learning to secure U.S. government cloud networks.

“The security tools and advanced machine learning algorithms included with Splunk Enterprise automate the analysis of our cloud security logs, instantly alerting security administrators of potential risks,” Peder Jungck, vice president and general manager of BAE’s Intelligence Solutions business, said in a statement. “This is a core part of our federated strategy, leveraging the best security technologies on the market to give network administrators an unparalleled level of awareness and security control.”

Splunk said its Enterprise platform enables faster detection and response to threats based on better information.

BAE said the solution will operate “seamlessly” on Microsoft’s [MSFT] Azure, Amazon’s [AMZN] Amazon Web Services, or on-premise cloud solutions, and can be customized to meet any government organization’s needs as they transition to a secure hybrid cloud environment.
