Britain’s BAE Systems on Sept. 30 said it completed its acquisition of North Carolina-based Signal Innovations Group (SIG), boosting its capabilities to meet demands of the United States defense and intelligence community customers for geospatial analysis and exploitation.
The deal was first announced in July. The acquisition was made by BAE’s U.S.-based arm, BAE Systems, Inc., and will become part of the Intelligence & Security business.
SIG has been a supplier for BAE on various Intelligence & Security programs for full motion video, persistent wide area motion imagery, and multi-intelligence analytics software, hardware and services.
“As our customers continue to look for solutions to transform ‘big data’ into actionable intelligence, the combination of SIG’s technologies with our existing intelligence tools and analysis capabilities will enhance our ability to offer customers tactical and strategic intelligence from around the globe,” DeEtte Gray, president of Intelligence & Security, said in a statement.
SIG has 35 employees. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
