The Army has awarded Defense Systems and Solutions a potential nine-year, $2.6 billion deal to provide technical support for the Aviation and Missile Research, Development, Engineering Center’s (AMRDEC) prototype integration facility, the Pentagon announced Tuesday.

Defense Systems and Solutions (DSS), a small business joint venture based in Huntsville, Alabama, will support expedited prototype development, fabrication, integration and experimentation for the AMRDEC prototype headquarters.DSS

The Pentagon received two bids for the work.

The AMRDEC prototype integration facility in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is responsible for testing of new aviation and missile system components.

DSS is a joint venture between Science and Engineering Services, LLC and Calista Corp.’s Yulista Integrated Solutions.

The incumbent for the AMRDEC contract was Redstone Defense Systems, which was also a joint venture between Science and Engineering Services,LLC and Calista’s Yulista Aviation.
