After a number of delays the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a Request for Proposals for its Credential Authentication Technology-Boarding Pass Scanning System (CAT/BPSS). The purpose of the system is to enable TSA to identify fraudulent identification documents and boarding passes. CAT/BPSS will deploy a computerized system that will read and analyze data and embedded security features on every passenger’s ID and boarding pass. The agency plans to issue orders from one or more vendors with a total value of up to $75 million. Sol. No. HSTS04-11-R-CT2003. Respond by Nov. 29.
