The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has awarded Lockheed Martin [LMT] a potential five-year, $700 million contract to provide specialized security training services to the agency’s workforce.

Lockheed Martin was already under contract to perform similar work under a previous award with TSA.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract has a base-year and four one-year options. The training services include a wide range of capabilities including behavioral detection, bomb appraisal, checkpoint evolution, fraudulent document identification, physical security, screening and more.

TSA says that the specialized security training has established and must maintain a rapid training capability, delivering targeted training to large numbers of security personnel as initiatives are implemented.

According the Request for Proposals, which was issued last September, the annual value of the base-year and each option-year is worth up to $140 million. The award was announced in the Aug. 14 FedBizOpps.gov web site.
