FIS Global to Serve as Cyber Security Research Partner with DHS

Banking and payments technology provider FIS [FIS] says it has entered into an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a research partner in the area of cyber security. FIS will work with DHS and the federal government to address and respond to cyber threats to the global financial industry and critical infrastructure by improving the security of financial transactions worldwide. DHS said there is a contract associated with the research partnership but declined to provide the value. FIS did not return requests for comment although in a press release it said that it will work with the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center, which provides round-the-clock coordination for monitoring and responding to cyber threats and attacks. “This partnership demonstrates the leadership role FIS plays in defining security for the financial services industry worldwide,” says Greg Montana, executive vice president and chief risk officer for FIS.
