Lockheed Martin’s [LMT] Sikorsky hosted German aerospace engineer and manufacturing companies at its Florida facility in the hopes of acquiring support for the production of its Marine CH-53K King Stallion helicopters in Germany.

Sikorsky is seeking industry partners in the home nation where it will deliver the new CH-53K helicopters for the German Air Force’s “Schwerer Transporthubschrauber” (STH) program.

“It is Sikorsky’s intent to be heavily involved as the original equipment manufacturer, but to have German suppliers accomplish the majority of the work when it comes to platform sustainment,” Sikorsky’s Vice President of Strategy and Business Development Nathalie Previte said in a statement. “We have several suppliers with whom we are finalizing exclusive relationships and who will form the foundation for the Sikorsky STH team in Germany.”

Sikorsky briefed the German aerospace representatives on production needs for its latest CH-53K helicopters, as well as the status of the STH program.

The CH-53K is designed for battlefield use and shipboard operations.
