Lockheed Martin’s [LMT] Sikorsky Aircraft unit announced on June 27 it has delivered South Korea’s Coast Guard its second S-92 helicopter, which will be deployed for search and rescue missions by the end of 2017.

The South Korean Coast Guard has operated one S-92, Sikorsky’s twin-engine medium-lift helicopter, since 2014 and will now conduct aircrew training on the latest delivered aircraft.

“The safety and performance of our current S-92 aircraft has truly provided reliability when it comes to the time-sensitive mission of saving lives,” South Korea Coast Guard’s Superintendent and Factory Acceptance Test Inspection Team Lead Kim Youngmo said in a statement. “We look forward to putting this new aircraft into operations to continue performing our mission.”

Sikorsky has produced around 275 of the S-92 helicopters since 2004.
