Safran Helicopter Engines announced on June 20 a new Memorandum of Understanding deal with Thai Aviation Industries (TAI) to partner in supporting the aircraft needs of the Royal Thai Armed Forces.

The French aircraft engine manufacturer will work with TAI to provide helicopter engine line maintenance, depot repair, inventory management and technical support for the Thai Air Force, Army, Navy and Police Departments.

The Royal Thai Armed Forces currently uses Safran’s Makila-powered engines for its H225M helicopters and its Arriel-powered engines for its fleet of H125M, H145M and H155 helicopters.

The latest deal is a follow up to Global Support Package (GSP) Safran signed earlier in 2017 with the Royal Thai Armed Forces to support the Makila-powered 2A1 engines utilized by the Thai Air Force.
