Saab is set to unveil the first test aircraft of the next generation Gripen fighter system, Gripen E, on May 18.

The unveiling will occur in a ceremony at the company’s facility in Linköping, Sweden. Speakers at the ceremony are set to include Peter Hultqvist, Sweden’s Minister for Defence; Mats Helgesson, Swedish Air Force Chief of Staff; Nivaldo Luiz Rossato, Commander of the Brazilian Air Force; Marcus Wallenberg, Saab Chairman of the Board; Saab CEO Håkan Buskhe; and Ulf Nilsson, head of Saab’s aeronautics business area, the company said Monday.

“There is huge global interest in the Gripen fighter system and we are now ready to present the first Gripen E. We look forward to sharing this important event with both guests and viewers,” Nilsson said in a statement.

The event will be livestreamed on a company website on the aircraft. It will begin at 15:00 Central European Time (CET) or 10 a.m. EDT.
