Rep. Betty McCollum (D-Minn.) is the new chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense (HAC-D), the full committee’s chairwoman said Monday.

McCollum, who served as the HAC-D vice chair in the last Congress, replaces the recently retired Pete Visclosky (Ind.).

The full slate of Democrats set to serve on HAC-D in this Congress will also include Reps. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio), Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Md.), Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio), Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), Derek Kilmer (D-Wash.), Peter Aguilar (D-Calif.), Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.), Charlie Crist (D-Fla.) and Ann Kirkpatrick (D-Ariz.).

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), the new House Appropriations chair, noted the full list of subcommittee chairs and rosters must still be formally approved by the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee and the House Democratic Caucus.
