Redwire on Tuesday said it has acquired LoadPath, a space technology company specializing in payload adapters, deployable structures and thermal products, a deal that marks the fifth acquisition this year by the new company.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Redwire, a portfolio company of the private equity firm AE Industrial Partners (AEI), was formed in June through AEI’s acquisition and merger of Deep Space Systems and Adcole Space.
LoadPath, which is based in Albuquerque, N.M., adds new capabilities to, and strengthens existing capabilities, of Redwire. The Defense Department is LoadPath’s primary customer but the company also does work for NASA and commercial clients.
“LoadPath brings market-leading capabilities to augment Redwire’s space infrastructure portfolio and broaden our range of technology products and services to support our customers’ missions,” Peter Cannito, chairman and CEO of Redwire, said in a statement.
LoadPath’s co-founders Adam Biskner and Greg Sanford will remain with the company. They founded LoadPath in 2009.
LoadPath’s capabilities also include structural testing, design and analysis, and ground support equipment. The company has delivered more than 200 flight articles.
Pulakos CPAs served as LoadPath’s financial adviser and Redwire was advised by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Following the combination of Deep Space and Adcole into Redwire, the company acquired on-orbit space manufacturer Made In Space and Roccor, a manufacturer of deployable space structures.
