Raytheon [RTN] was awarded a $529 million fixed-price incentive firm contract modification to exercise an option to provide Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs), the Air Force said in a contract announcement on Tuesday.

This is an option exercised on the previously awarded contract FA8675-15-C-0022 awarded Dec. 22, 2014. The original contract was for Lot 28 production. This included the missile, captive air training missile, common munitions bit/reprogramming equipment, and non-developmental item airborne instrumentation unit.

This modification option will have Raytheon provide Lot 29 production of the missiles and other AMRAAM system items. The contract involves foreign military sales, the Air Force said.

Fiscal year 2015 Air Force and Navy production funds of $295 million are being obligated at the time of award.

The contract work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz., and is expected to be finished by Jan. 31, 2018. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Eglin AFB, Fla. is the contracting authority.
