Raytheon [RTN] on Tuesday said it has received a second increment, worth $25 million, under an existing contract from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to provide the Philippine government with a maritime border security solution.

Under the new increment, Raytheon will deliver sensors, command, control, and communications (C3) systems, and related training and sustain services to operationalize the border security capabilities. Specific work includes installation of a common operating picture platform in the Philippine National Coast Watch Control (NCWC) and National Coast Watch Stations in two different provinces, design, installation and testing of electro-optic/infrared cameras, continued integration of C3 equipment and infrastructure, construction of a training center, communications and surveillance upgrades to Philippine coast guard vessels, the training and sustainment capabilities.

“Under this latest contract award, Raytheon will enable the government of the Philippines to stand up a fully-operational security capability that detects, deters, and prevents threats along its coastal borders,” Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s Intelligence, Information and Services segment, said in a statement. “This work continues our strong partnership with the Republic of the Philippines and our direct support of DTRA’s efforts to help nations secure their borders and coastlines.”

In May Raytheon announced the completion of an NCWC for maritime security for the Philippines as part of an earlier two-year, $19 million first increment award by DTRA to improve that country’s maritime border security through the integration of data from various agencies into the NCWC. That work included communication and surveillance solutions for the islands of Palawan and Cebu with associated training and sustainment for the Filipino operators.

The NCWC is the hub of the Philippine National Coast Watch System for security in its territorial waters.

DTRA, a Pentagon agency, awarded Raytheon the contracts as part of the Cooperative Threat Reduction Integrating Contract (CTRIC) II contract. Raytheon has also won work under CTRIC to provide an integrated surveillance solution for a portion of Jordan’s land border.
