Raytheon [RTN] Wednesday said it has received a $109 million engineering services contract for its Patriot Air and Missile Defense System.

The contract, issued by the Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is for ongoing technical support and services to the U.S. Army and Foreign Military Sale customers to ensure readiness of their Patriot systems.

Patriot_firing_RTN“Customers around the world will benefit from the maintenance and upgrades that result from this contract–especially the technical baseline improvements designed to counter evolving threats,” said Ralph Acaba, vice president of Integrated Air and Missile Defense at Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems business. “The U.S. Army recognizes the importance of investing in Patriot sustainment, especially given the instability in the world today.”

Under this contract, the system analysis, software development, testing and logistics support, and other country-specific system requirements work will be performed by Raytheon in Andover, Mass.; Tewksbury, Mass.; Huntsville, Ala.; and White Sands, N.M.
