Abaco Systems is Trusted with Providing Single Board Computers for Critical Aircraft Carrier Program
Will help equip crew workstations that control electrical, propulsion and nuclear systems

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Abaco Systems today announced that it has been chosen by one of the world's premier shipbuilding companies to help equip state of the art aircraft carriers. Abaco XCR15 6U rugged CompactPCI® computers will be at the heart of crew workstations located throughout each ship that will provide access to the craft's electrical, propulsion and nuclear systems. Depending on the specific functionality of the workstation, between two and 17 XCR15s will be installed in each workstation chassis.
The potential value of the program to Abaco is estimated at close to $2 million.

The XCR15 6U CompactPCI rugged single board computer utilizes an Intel Core i7 dual/quad processor operating at up to 2.5GHz, and supports up to 16 GBytes of memory. The processor also brings Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) signal processing, and intelligent performance on-demand with Intel Turbo Boost technology. The XCR15 provides support for two XMC/PMC mezzanine sites as well as Gigabit Ethernet, VGA, DVI, audio, SATA, serial and GPIO. Both front I/O and rear I/O are possible. Operating system support includes Linux®, VxWorks® and Windows® 7.
