Secretary of Defense James Mattis on Thursday announced the appointment of three top Navy officials by President Trump.

Vice Adm. Kevin Donegan was reappointed vice admiral and assigned to director of Navy Staff N09B at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO). Donegan is currently the commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and has served there since Sept. 2015.

Rear Adm. Matthew Kohler is appointed vice admiral and assigned to continue as commander of Naval Information Forces in Suffolk, Va. He has served as commander since it was established in October 2014.

Rear Adm. Andrew Lewis is appointed vice admiral and assigned as deputy CNO for Operations, Plans, and Strategy, N3/N5, in the office of the CNO. He currently serves as the vice director for operations, J3, Joint Staff at the Pentagon and has been in that role since August 2015.
