Parsons Corp. [PSN] and Science Applications International Corp.

[SAIC] have completed recently announced acquisitions to add capabilities and scale in cyber and federal health information technology respectively.

Parsons this week said it completed its $203 million deal for BlackHorse Solutions, expanding its capabilities in cyber, electronic warfare, and information dominance. Parsons, which in June announced its intent to acquire BlackHorse, said the deal is consistent with its strategy of accretive acquisitions with sales and operating margins above 10 percent that also add intellectual property.

BlackHorse, which is based in Northern Virginia, has nearly 200 employees and is expected to add about $100 million to sales in 2022.

SAIC on July 2 closed its $250 million deal for Halfaker and Associates, giving it a presence in the federal health IT solutions space and bolstering its capabilities in digital services, data analytics, cybersecurity and cloud solutions. The deal was first announced in June.

Halfaker, which is also based in Northern Virginia, has more than 550 employees and had about $160 million in sales in 2020. The company’s customers include the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Defense, Health and Human Services, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
