The NCI Agency has issued a $6.2 million Invitation For Bid (IFB) for a contract to deliver the strategy, architecture, design, implementation, and initial support for the NATO Information Portal (NIP) project that will enable an enterprise wide portal.

iStock Cyber Lock The NIP project will implement an enterprise wide portal capability based on a Microsoft [MSFT] SharePoint solution, provide the migration of legacy WISE  (Web Information Service Environment) data and implement a federated search solution based on Microsoft’s FAST search engine.

To ensure a successful implementation of these capabilities, the NCI Agency has been authorized to tender a contract to deliver the strategy, architecture, design, implementation, and initial support of this solution.

On Feb. 6, the IFB was issued to more than 100 firms nominated by their respective national authorities in response to the Notification of Intent issued in 2013, the agency said in a statement.

The estimated cost of the basic scope of the prospective contract is about $6.2 million, and there will be contract options to provide for extended operational support.
