The National Interest Security Company, LLC (NISC), controlled by DC Capital Partners LLC, announced the separate acquisitions of Athenyx and Information Manufacturing Corp. (IMC), moves expected to improve the company’s capabilities.

NISC has completed acquisition of Columbia, Md.-based Athenyx, which provides expert level engineering and computer systems, support for the design, acquisition, development, integration, deployment, and ongoing support of high performance information systems to the U.S. intelligence community.

“We are pleased to have Athenyx join the NISC portfolio of companies,” Thomas Campbell, president of DC Capital Partners and chairman of NISC, said in a Dec. 11 statement.

“Their expertise in software, database, and systems engineering and their reputation within the intelligence community will add significantly to the capabilities of NISC.”

Theresa Harrison, president of Athenyx, said the company has had a high rate of growth and that NISC is the right partner to maintain momentum. “NISC will allow us to further leverage our expert technical skills throughout the intelligence community.”

IMC, with primary offices in Rocket Center, W.Va., and Fairfax, Va., provides a wide range of information technology and knowledge management services to the intelligence community, the Defense Department, and other federal agencies. IMC’s capabilities cover the full continuum of information management services including integrated data capture, convergence, manipulation, mining, exploitation, delivery, and storage systems and solutions.

“IMC is a critical partner to its government customers in enabling the transformation of government in how it captures, stores, utilizes, and accesses mission critical data,” said Robert Hytner, IMC president. “Our partnership with NISC will enhance our capabilities and allow us to expand our customer base.”

Campbell said, “IMC’s unique service offerings will greatly enhance NISC’s existing capabilities, particularly in the DoD and the intelligence community. Their ability to convert large repositories of data from a wide variety of media and transform it into manageable, accessible and actionable forms of information in a secure setting is a crucial function in today’s environment.”
