Moog Inc. [MOG.A] last week said it has acquired Netherlands-based firm Bradford Engineering for $13.1 million in cash, complementing its existing European spacecraft components business.

Bradford is a developer and manufacturer of satellite attitude and orbit control subsystems, propulsion and thermal subsystems and components. The company is expected to add about $10.5 million to Moog’s sales for the rest of its fiscal year that ends in Sept. 2012. The deal is also expected to be neutral to Moog’s earnings for the current fiscal year.

“We believe there is a strong demand for their products in the United States and we will now have an established manufacturing base for space components in Europe,” Jay Hennig, president of Moog’s Space and Defense Group, said in a statement.
