L3 first announced the acquisitions in July, deals that are part of the company’s renewed focus under Chris Kubasik, who took over as CEO of L3 at the start of the year. L3 at the time said the combined price for the two companies is $200 million, plus a potential $32 million earnout provision based on post-acquisition sales.

L3 said that Trenchant strengthens its existing capabilities in command, control, communications, computers, cyber defense and combat systems, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. Trenchant is expected to add about $65 million to L3’s sales in 2019.

L3 Trenchant has about 80 employees, including about 60 credentialed software engineers.

Linchpin is based in Canada and Azimuth in Australia. L3 didn’t use financials advisors on the deals.
