L-1 Identity Solutions [ID] has received an initial contract valued at $20 million from an undisclosed customer in the Middle East for more that 1,000 portable HIIDE multimodal biometric devices, additional hardware, software, services, and three years of maintenance and support. The contract includes the development of software to link and expand the customer’s existing databases to enroll, manage and search using multimodal biometrics. Software and services delivery will begin immediately and all devices are expected to ship within 20 months. Separately, L-1 has received $37 million in multi-year contracts from the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers for professional services. Also, last month L-1 received $37.9 million in driver’s license support contracts combined from Massachusetts and Mississippi over multiple years.
